Payroll Officer

IVC Evidensia Ireland was established in 2018 and has continued to grow its presence in the Irish veterinary market. 

Due to our continued growth, IVC Evidensia Ireland are looking to recruit for a Payroll Officer to join our tight-knit, fun and hardworking team!

Main Purpose of Job

The Payroll Officer will support IVC Ireland practices through the provision of effective and professional payroll support and advice in line with Company policies and procedures. 

This person will be the single point of contact for payroll related matters in Ireland but will have access to a supportive and inclusive network in Ireland and also the UK.

Key Tasks/Scope of Job 

  • Working closely with our Irish Operations team and UK payroll team to effectively process monthly payroll for each practice. (Circa 300 employees currently)
  • Conducting regular audits to ensure correct payments are made.
  • Managing the re-coup of any loans / repayments to the company.
  • Overseeing the processing of employee pay & deductions into the payroll system.  
  • Supporting the integration process with newly acquired practice payrolls.
  • Work closely with the wider UK payroll team to co-ordinate and communicate activities.
  • Providing professional and accurate payroll advice and coaching to Business Support Managers and practices in a timely manner including sick pay, tax advice and general payroll queries.
  • Analysing monthly payroll data to produce accurate payroll journals
  • Processing payments to employees via the IVC banking portal
  • Delivering payroll training sessions to a variety of employees.
  • Providing advice to employees regarding monthly payroll.
  • Supporting the Operations team with ongoing projects.
  • Promoting best practice in all aspects of payroll across the practices.

Skills and experience specification

  • Knowledge of Irish payroll legislation.
  • A proven self-starter with a ‘can do’ approach.
  • Previous experience in a generalist Payroll Officer role in a multi-site business covering most of the tasks listed above.
  • Experience of implementing new systems and processes.
  • Willingness, experience and confidence to take ownership of the payroll function and implement processes to improve and streamline the service we provide for our practices
  • Ability to work as part of a virtual team and work unsupervised.
  • IPASS qualified or working towards qualification or qualified by experience.
  • Ability to use a HR / Time and Attendance system including, accessing, inputting, and compiling data an advantage.
  • Demonstrates an attention to detail.
  • Proven influencing and communication skills.
  • Self-confident and proactive.
