The Role
Here at Raheny Veterinary Hospital, we are looking for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be required to work 39hours per week, 5 days a week. No OOH. The shifts will be a mixture of earlies (7.30-4.30/8-5) and lates (11-8/12-9). Weekends are shared on a rotation basis, generally 1 in 5 and weekends will be worked with another part time nurse and a student nurse. No reception work will be required for this role.
The Day to day duties, would include ward and surgery shifts, including orthopaedic work. Nurses duties also include assisting with consultations, general preparation of surgery for the following day and medication dispensing.
About Us
Raheny Veterinary Hospital is primarily a small animal hospital for first opinion and referral. We have all the mod cons- laser, blood machines, ultrasound, orthopaedic suite and laparoscopy. We have a fantastic team here and as a nurse your skills are fully utilised. The practice is based in North Dublin and can be accessed by bus and dart.
We have 9 Vets, 5 Nurses, 11 support team members and a certificate holder in orthopaedics and ultrasound scanning.
Applicant Requirements
We are looking for someone who is a qualified Veterinary Nurse and registered with the Veterinary Council. The candidate will preferably have experience working in a busy hospital setting and experience in orthopaedics is an advantage. You must also be an excellent team player and can work with a team or on your own. We also look for someone with a good attitude and enthusiasm for the role.
