Athlone Veterinary Hospital are seeking a Veterinary Nurse to join their experienced team of professionals.
We are a registered veterinary hospital as awarded by the Veterinary Council of Ireland’s Practice Accreditation Scheme. We are located at Bonavalley, Athlone which is in the centre of Ireland, 1hr from Dublin and Galway. Athlone is a bustling market town with fantastic cafes, pubs, and restaurants, and is surrounded by stunning countryside and waterways.
Athlone Veterinary Hospital is a mixed practice, 50% small, 30% Large, 20% Equine. We have all the usual equipment that you would expect including digital x-ray, Idexx blood analysis, ultrasound, dental, gaseous anaesthesia, Equine x-ray facilities, large animal surgery, stocks, stables, calf pens.
Our well-established team comprises of 4 full time and 1 part time vet, 2 registered vet nurses and 5 support staff. With many collective years of experience, we offer a supportive working environment. We strive to keep a positive atmosphere in the hospital each day for both our clients and employees to enjoy.
The Role
We are seeking a full time, permanent Veterinary Nurse to join our team.
The role will include assisting Vet during surgery, patient monitoring, animal husbandry, nurses clinic, puppy club, weight management club, dispense medication etc.
This is a full time position, 5-5.5 days per week (8am to 3pm, 9am to 7pm or 8.30am to 4pm). Weekend duties every 3rd weekend with time in lieu No out of hours excluding emergency situations.
Salary for the role is commensurate with experience level.
Applicant requirements
All applicants must have a qualified Veterinary Nurse and be eligible to register with the Veterinary Council of Ireland.
