Veterinary Nurse – Maternity Leave Cover 

Tullamore Pet Hospital is looking for a dedicated and passionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team for a maternity leave cover. Position: Veterinary Nurse 
Contract: Specific Purpose Contract – Maternity Leave Cover 
Full-time: 40 hours per week (including 1 hour for lunch) 
Shift Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm or 11:00am - 7:00pm (no weekend or on-call duties) 
Flexible, Part-time options available 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Monitoring anaesthesia and providing surgical nursing support 

• Performing nurse consultations and offering inpatient care 

• Diagnostic imaging (including X-ray and ultrasound) 

• Medical nursing and general patient care 

• Assisting with clinical procedures and treatments 

 

What We Offer: 

• Salary: €30,000-€35,000 depending on experience 

• Support and mentorship for Final Year Student Veterinary Nurses and New Graduates 

• A progressive, purpose-built small animal hospital equipped with the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies (e.g., Idexx blood machines, DR X-ray machine, ultrasound) 

• A friendly, collaborative team consisting of 4 vets, 3 nurses, and 2 receptionists

Applicant Requirements: 

• VCI registration as a Veterinary Nurse is essential 

• Experience in first opinion practice is beneficial but not necessary 

• Final year Student Veterinary Nurses and New Graduates are encouraged to apply 

• Passion for patient care and a proactive approach to teamwork
