Country Head of Farm, IVC Evidensia Ireland

IVC Evidensia Ireland has grown to become the Ireland’s largest veterinary group. Our spirit of supporting local leadership and clinical freedom requires us to provide multi-faceted support which optimises practice performance and effectiveness.

This role will provide support for mixed clinics to Area Directors and Business Support Managers in their leadership and coaching, driving IVC Evidensia Ireland through our next phase of growth.

This role is key to coordinate and implement the farm strategy via area directors in all farm clinics and lead various projects relevant to farm clinics. 

We have identified 4 key areas derived from our farm strategy that are fundamental to the success of this role in supporting area directors and indirectly clinical directors.  

1.            To improve recruitment for farm and farm clinics

2.            To improve retention in farm clinics

3.            To improve clinical standards of farm clinics

4.            To improve efficiency and financial performance of farm clinics

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the team of farm practices
  • Co-ordinate Farm information in a timely manner
  • Organise all aspects of Farm information to be distributed to farm practice
  • Organise all aspects of Farm information to the Clinical Boards and Strategic Groups
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure all messaging is consistent
  • Co-ordinate new initiatives and support new projects in farm
  • Develop with the leadership team Ireland and group head farm and equine an annual Farm strategy
  • Support and coordinate bad debt, pricing and charging projects in farm
  • Manage the progress of the Farm strategy
  • Support the promotion of the IVC Farm Vets brand
  • Manage the content of the IVC website and intranet page
  • Look for opportunities to further promote the brand through universities and congresses
  • Co-ordinate with the Academy team all aspects of internal Farm CPD
  • Keep up to date with external legislation and initiatives within the industry both in the UK and Ireland

Recruitment

  • Strengthen links with vet schools and Associate teaching practices
  • Farm Grad academy and Integration of interns into New Grad Programme

Retention

  • Clinical working groups – feeding into clinical board
  • Career pathways - Farm leadership day (Management & leadership)

Clinic Standards

  • Clinical Protocols & advice (SOPS)
  • Clinical Board development / changes / involvement of members

Efficiency

  • Develop new initiatives to improve efficiency in farm

Personal Specifications

  • The Ideal candidate would be a veterinary surgeon with experience working in a large animal setting in Ireland

Relevant Experience

  • At least 5 years leadership experience, including coaching and mentoring of aspiring leaders and senior colleagues in Farm
  • Proven track record of delivering results
  • Strong people skills including bringing together diverse teams
  •  Multi-site management
  • A broad healthcare knowledge would be preferable although not essential

Skills and Abilities

  • Well-developed demonstratable E.I. skills, you can recognise who needs what and when
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and engage colleagues
  • Proven coaching and mentoring skills, with capability to develop, motivate, and maximise clinical and financial performance of individuals and teams.
