The Role 

Job Title: Receptionist 

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Position 

Shift Pattern: Flexible schedule with 1 in 3 Saturdays 

No Sundays or out-of-hours work required 

Hourly Rate: €13.50 per hour 

Start Date: June 2025 

 

Your Role in Our Team 

As the first point of contact for clients, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that every visit is a positive, reassuring experience. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:  

• Greeting pet owners with empathy and professionalism 

• Managing appointment bookings and phone enquiries with care and efficiency 

• Supporting the veterinary team with diary coordination and front-of-house operations 

• Maintaining a calm, clean, and welcoming reception area 

• Providing clear communication and thoughtful support to clients during emotional or stressful moments 

You’ll be working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment where your passion for animals and attention to detail will be highly valued. 

 

Applicant Requirements 

We are seeking a trustworthy, reliable and friendly person able to work in a fast-paced veterinary practice environment. The successful applicant must have: 

• Previous receptionist experience in any service-related industry 

• Experience in veterinary or animal care is beneficial but not essential 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Be competent with computers and learning new IT systems 

• Comfortable with cash handling 

• Demonstrate high standards of hygiene and cleaning 

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Be a team player 

• Possess great organizational skills 

• A love for animal welfare is a requirement
