We have some exciting opportunities to join our clinic in Galway! We are increasing our wonderful team of vets and now looking for two Small Animal Veterinary Surgeons to join our current team of 3 vets and 5 nurses.
We are looking for a Full Time 4-day week Vet and a Part Time Vet with negotiable hours that can be adapted to suit other responsibilities.
Our Full-time hours are 8.30-6, 4 days a week with 1:4 Saturdays and OOH is approx. 1:10 weekends and 1:20 weeknights. Our part-time hours could vary between a 2 full days or multiple mornings only – we would be happy to accommodate personal needs in this role to suit both Vet and Clinic. Saturdays and OOH as above, however this can also be discussed.
Salary for the role is up to €60,000 depending on experience.
Our main Clinic is based in Barna, just 3km west of Sea-side Salthill and 5km west of the bustling city of Galway on the coast in the West of Ireland. We are a Small Animal Practice, started in 2008, and have a suburban but village-based feel due to our location in Barna and are just a 2-minute walk to the pier. Our branch practice is based in Moycullen, just 15 minutes away on the Clifden road west out of Galway City. Moycullen is a more rural village than Barna with country surroundings and easy access to Connemara. Part of the appeal of Galway is that we are the doorsteps of both a vibrant City with a very active social and arts scene and Connemara with the solitude and outdoor appeal that this landscape brings.
We encourage CPD and are happy to develop your experience in your chosen area of interest by way of training or starting a Certificate. There is also plenty of opportunity
About the Team and Culture
Currently a team of 3 vets and 5 nurses.
Both clinics are purpose fitouts with x-ray, ultrasound, IDEXX blood machines, Mindray monitors with dental x-ray addition planned. We have dedicated staff in both clinics and have a strong team mindset. We pride ourselves in our client relationships and our clinical standards and offer a high standard of care to our patients. We support our Vets and like to discuss cases and treatment options in our Vet meetings. Senior Vet support is always available and encouraged when required. Being village based, our pace is slower than that of city practices which encourages in depth work-up of cases and time to develop relationships with clients. We are a young dynamic group and enjoy work as well as time off and having fun and enjoying our routine is important to us.
We are able to accommodate either a senior vet wishing to develop their skillset or a younger vet with some experience wishing to benefit from access to experienced, knowledgeable and supportive vets. You will need to enjoy working as part of a team and be able to do some branch work as the sole Vet with nursing support
