Avenue Veterinary Hospital is a 100% small animal practice located in Dundalk. We are located one hour and a half from Dublin city, in the busy Dundalk town. Situated on the Northeast coast, famed for its local community, heritage history, thriving nightlife and the local schools and colleges. We have all the regular mod cons within a modern practice.
Our practice is easily accessible via M1 and public transport by Train and Bus.
Avenue Veterinary Hospital is a dedicated companion animal practice for over 30 years. Our highly motivated and competent team currently consists of 4 Veterinary Surgeons, 3 Veterinary Nurses and 4 support staff. Our emphasis is on looking after our patients and pet parents. The Role
Avenue Veterinary Hospital in Dundalk are looking for a Clinical Director.
The role of Clinical Director is of utmost importance within the practice. This role leads the practice in ensuring the best level of care is given to each client and their pet. You will be a key contact in both the clinical and non-clinical aspects of running the practice, with the opportunity to develop your interests and put your own personal stamp on it. Other day-to-day duties would see the successful candidate overseeing the general running of the practice with your main focus being clinical work, operating and consulting. You will work with the Practice Manager and Business Support Manager to develop and lead the clinic's direction.
Working hours are flexible and would be between 9:00am-6:30pm. We have a wide variety in our caseload with certificates fully funded and encouraged.
Salary for this role is highly competitive and negotiable depending on experience.
Applicant Requirements
Our ideal candidate needs to be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon registered with the VCI and demonstrate excellent communication skills. The role of Clinical Director requires a candidate to have the following:
- Competent in all routine surgeries and consultations
- Excellent clinical skills
- Personable an effective communicator
- Leadership and management knowledge or appreciation for same
- Focus on clinical excellence and best practice policies
Ideally, some experience in management would be preferred but the role would suit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to step up and progress in their career. The successful candidate would need to be enthusiastic, caring and passionate. You will need to work well within a team but also be able to lead it when required.
