Brittas Vets, Thurles, co. Tipperary are a 100% Small animal hospital seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their team for a fixed term contract in March 2024.
We are a two-site practice and see first and second opinion cases. We also provide a referral service to our neighbouring practices. We also provide radiograph & ultrasound services. Our team consists of 5 vets (2 with advanced certs in surgery and medicine), 3 registered nurses and 8 support staff. Our hospital is a large premises with amble carparking. We have 2/3 consulting rooms, ultrasound room, x-ray, dental machine. Our caseload includes routine & complex surgeries including orthopedics. We are also involved in a neutering scheme with a local charity. Our branch practice is located 25km away.

This is a full-time, fixed term (6-10 months) position.
The ideal candidate should be confident in first opinion consults and routine surgeries.
They should be willing to work as a team & be able to work of their own initiative in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate should be friendly & courteous.
The working hours are 5 days per week (40 hours, 8.30-5.30), 1 weeknight on call, and cover 1 in 5 weekends (Saturday Morning Clinics and then on call)
Salary for this role is up to €53k depending on experience
We are seeking an experienced, VCI registered Veterinary Surgeon eligible to work in Ireland.
We are also happy to consider supporting a new graduate.
