Support is important to any vet, especially during their first year in practice. We designed our Graduate Academy with this in mind.
Members of our Graduate Academy will have access to a range of CPD programmes, the support of a clinical coach in practice and various networking opportunities with their peers.
The benefits listed below are available to each and every one of our graduates.
Clinical coach and mentor. You’ll be assigned a dedicated clinical coach who’ll always be on hand to help.
Competitive salary. Your starting salary will be €32k per year.
Graduate Academy payment. All graduates receive a welcome gift of €5,600, paid in 2 installments.
Holiday. You’ll get 20 days holiday every year, not including bank holidays and birthday leave.
Professional memberships. We will cover the cost of your VCI membership fees and many more.
Structured CPD programme. We provide each graduate with a CPD programme, tailored to their needs and professional interests.
Career progression. There’ll be lots of opportunities to progress within our ever-growing network.
Online training. Learn in your free time with our e-CPD training programme.
Peer support. You’ll be part of a network of other vets, both in your local area and across Ireland, UK and Europe.
Internal transfers. We have a process for internal transfers within the Republic of Ireland, UK and Europe, making it easy for you to relocate.
Regular feedback & support. Our graduates receive regular advice and feedback from their clinical coach.
Training conferences. You’ll be invited to attend National Vet Congress events such as LVS and BVA.
Our two-year CPD programme is designed to further your clinical knowledge base, as well as practical skills like communication, leadership & business management.

No. If your practice provides their own out-of-hours care, you’ll be eased into it by your clinical coach. You won’t be placed on the OOH rota alone until your clinical coach signs you off to be able to do so.
Absolutely! Many of our graduates do this. You’ll also be able to take large animal CPD sessions, and even our Farm Only programme, which we launched this year.
The choice is yours. Our group spans across 10 European countries, so there are plenty of options. In your application, you can apply for one specific practice or a number of practices in your preferred area. We’ll discuss the available vacancies with you and contact the relevant practices to arrange an interview.
Yes. We have a process in place for internal transfers.
Graduates usually spend 12 days a year attending our CPD programmes, which include a variety of wet lab sessions, practical workshops and seminars on a range of topics.
Absolutely! We are proud to welcome applicants from overseas, whether in Europe or further afield. So long as you’re eligible to register with the VCI, we look forward to hearing from you. We can also support you with visa sponsorship.
If you’re studying to be a vet, we offer EMS placements at a variety of different practices across the UK.
